January 2017 Update

Radio Aspire Youth

RAY began in September with 1 hour a week on Wednesdays at 6pm.  We are very lucky to have Neil Long from Radio Jackie working with us to produce the show.  Thank you to all the young people who take part and to the production team.  If you would like to feature as part of the show or want to know more about how you can get involved please contact Munita on 02088316037.

Research partnership with London University, Institute of Education, PALAC (Promoting the Achievement of Looked After Children).

AfC Virtual School is collaborating with PALAC in a Literacy Programme with local Primary Schools.  This is a funded project and staff who take part will receive a small fee.   Our Educational Psychologists then visit schools and provide a baseline assessment and a report to guide the learning.    This information forms part of a training day at the Institute of Education after which time teachers offer 1:1 Closing the Gap tuition over a 10 week process in their schools.   The impact on Literacy attainment has been dramatic when this intervention has been implemented in other boroughs.  If you are interested in taking part then contact Munita on 020 8831 6037.

Website Launch

We have launched our new Website and we hope that all our colleagues find it a helpful source of information with regard to ePEP procedures, registering on Training Events and information regarding the way we monitor and support the learning of our students.
