Excellence in Education Plan (EEP)

Every child and young person who is looked after will have a Personal Education Plan, known as a PEP.  It provides the child and professionals working with them, such as social workers and designated teachers, with a record of how their educational needs and achievements have been and will be supported. The child or young person looked after will also play a part in expressing their own needs and aspirations at their PEP meetings.

Once a child becomes previously looked after, there is no statutory requirement for a PEP.  A similar framework may be valuable for them, their families and professionals around the child, however.

AfC virtual school has developed their own version of a PEP for previously looked-after children in conjunction with Orleans Primary school in Richmond. This is known as an Excellence in Education plan and is available to be used across all AfC schools. It can also provide a useful record of how funding from the Pupil Premium Plus has been spent.
