Personal Education Plans
Underpinning the success of each young person is the completion of a Personal Education Plan (PEP).
It is a statutory requirement for Virtual Schools, schools, and social workers to provide school-age children in care with three PEP reviews per year. These reviews must include SMART, educationally focused targets.
Our Role
The AfC Virtual College is responsible for the administration and quality assurance of electronic Personal Education Plans (ePEPs) for children and young people from the year prior to starting school through to the end of Year 13.
For young people over the age of 18, we emphasise the importance of ‘progress reviews’. These bring together the young person and the key professionals supporting them to:
-
Reflect on their progress
-
Discuss their views
-
Identify how each stakeholder can offer further support
